Mission
Our mission is to serve the families of our congregation and the community by providing a safe, trusting, Christ-centered environment that will nurture the cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth of their very young child.

Philosophy
The goal of First Steps Infant and Toddler Center is to provide quality care for children that meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive (intellectual) developmental needs. Our affectionate, well-trained, responsive staff provides a safe and nurturing environment that is loving, safe, stimulating, and most importantly Christ-centered. By giving children the attention and respect they deserve, and by delighting in their varied, creative responses to life, we are fostering in them an appreciation for one another.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when his is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

Hands On Exploration
Infants and toddlers learn by seeing and doing. Therefore, we have developed an environment that invites exploration. We allow children to choose from a variety of hands-on, age appropriate activities designed to stimulate creativity, promote physical and cognitive growth, develop a positive self-concept, and improve socialization skills. We strive to provide a balance between quiet and active times, individual and group activities, indoor and outdoor times, large and small muscle development and learning about Jesus and the love he shares.

“Let the little children come to me, “ Jesus said, “and don’t keep them away.”
Matthew 19:14

Christian Relationships
First Steps has earned a great reputation in the daycare community and we feel that this is accomplished by open and trusting Christian relationships we develop with our parents and the love we have for the children that attend First Steps.

Weekly chapels are held every Wednesday with one of the pastors of Peace where the children sing songs and learn more about Jesus.

Hours & Enrollment
First Steps offers care Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Full time enrollment only, serving children ages 6 weeks to 4 years-old. If you have questions or are interested in finding Christ-centered care for your young children, contact us at 562-8437.
