Jesse Tree Daily Devotions are available on the information table for you to use with your family this Advent season. Each day you will ponder the symbols that tell the story of Jesus from creation to His second coming.
Angel Tree: The Columbus Area Holiday Spirit Inc. is working to help families in need during this holiday season. Their main focus is meeting the needs of children. If you are called to help a child this Christmas season, please take an angel from our tree. Gifts should be around $50 per child and should be returned unwrapped by Monday, December 9th. All donations stay locally in Columbus. Any questions should be directed to Kortlin Gustafson (402) 615-3107.
December Mission Focus: The Columbus Community Haiti Project funds & packs meals for children in Haiti, serving them with nutrition and the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Mission Donations in December will benefit this project in partnership with 1C and Mission of Hope. Meals will be packed on April 5th at 1C. There will be fundraising dinners happening in February.
90th Birthday Surprise Card Shower: Violet Theilen is turning 90 on December 8th. To help celebrate this special day, the family has requested a card shower for her. Her address is 6073 Shady Lake Road, Columbus.
Lutheran Women in Mission invite you to join us for our Christmas Dinner, devotion and being entertained by the Men’s Choir on Monday, December 9th at 6:30pm. Cost of the meal is $13 and spouses are invited to join us. Contact Betty Hitz or the church office if you would like to reserve a meal for this event.
Advent By Candlelight Women’s Event will be on Monday, December 16th at 6:30pm. If you would like to host a table or attend, please sign up in the narthex. Please join us and bring your friends!
Holiday Photo Booth: The LWML has set up a photo booth in the chapel that you may consider using for your family picture. It will be a freewill donation, (suggested $10) which will benefit seminary students.
Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser for Global Passion Ministries for their Medical Mission Trip to Nicaragua in January will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on Sunday, December 8th from 11:30pm-1:30pm.
Compassionate Friends will be having a candle lighting ceremony for parents who have lost a child. It will be on Sunday, December 8th at 7pm (arrive by 6:45pm) at St. Isidore Church, 3921 20th St., Columbus.
