… be ready in season and out of season… 2 Timothy 4:2 ![]() I am ready for summer; the longer days, the warmer weather, being able to mow my lawn and work in my garden. Summer is the season which brings us baseball and softball, vacations and time to relax and be with family. I love summer! This summer there are many things planned at Peace. Beside the weekly services each Saturday and Sunday, we have Connect Groups starting again. In June we have Vacation Bible School (June 8-12), the Nebraska District LCMS Convention (June 20-21), and the LWML National Convention in Omaha (June 26-29). That’s just in June! Then on July 6-12 there is the annual PINK Mission Trip to Norris, SD, the LCC Comfort Dog Annual Convention is on July 17-18 in Chicago and National Youth Gathering invades New Orleans on July 19-23. Add to that all the vacations and weekend trips and the calendar gets filled quickly. And when the calendar gets full, something has to give. And all too often that “something” is worship. In the passage at the beginning, Paul is encouraging Timothy to “be ready in season and out of season.” In other words, don’t let your faith be “seasonal”. Don’t neglect worship when things get busy, but instead see worship as an opportunity to get filled up for the busyness this season brings. Continue to worship. Whether it is here at Peace, whatever place you are vacationing or spending the weekend, or even online with our live stream. Stay connected to His Word and His Church for His strength. Don’t look at worship as something you HAVE to do, but something you GET to do in order to remain grounded in Him who lived and suffered and died and rose again, Jesus our Savior. He did that so that we would have peace and hope, even in the midst of of the extra busyness of this great time of the year. Be ready in and out of season. Stay connected to Jesus. Continue to gather in worship. You will be glad you did! In His Peace, Pastor Cory
