Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Isaiah 46:9 NLT Looking back at your life, what are some things you would tell people if they asked what are some milestones that took place? Would it be: Learning how to ride a bike? Getting your first job? Moving out on your own? Getting married? The birth of a child? No matter what comes to your mind, each of us have certain events we can look back on and see how they shaped us. Similar to this, we all have faith milestones too! What are some faith milestones in your life? Some that stick out for me are: my baptism, the first time I attended Camp Luther after 1st grade, playing in a roundball basketball tournament through my Lutheran elementary school, attending the National Youth Gathering after my 9th grade year, volunteering at the rescue mission in my hometown, and joining a small group Bible study during my freshman year of college. While each of these things on their own seem insignificant, they were all milestones that the Lord used to help my faith grow. In the upcoming year, we have a goal to celebrate more faith milestones at Peace. We want to recognize the work the Lord is doing in our lives and have ways to help us look back and remember them. One milestone (that we are bringing back!) is giving out Bibles to each 4th grader from our Peace family at the services on August 15th and 16th. The long term goal is that we will have milestones that span across generations. That each season of life we would be able to celebrate the growth that God is doing in our lives! As we begin this intentionality with faith milestones, I invite you to pray. Please pray for each child who will receive a Bible; that the Lord would help them to take in His Word and grow in faith. Also pray for what other faith milestones we will celebrate in the future! In the meantime, I invite you to reflect on your faith milestones. Where has God taken a seemingly insignificant event and used it to grow your faith? Peace in Christ, Cami Hamer - Director of Discipleship
