The main emphasis of our mission and vision statements is the making of disciples, followers of Jesus Christ who put their faith into action. The next question then is ‘How do we to encourage discipleship at Peace?'
Our approach to discipleship simply looks at the process needed to move a person deeper along in the journey towards discipleship, focusing everything the church does as assisting in this process. We desire to help each person at Peace in a discipleship walk to be Rooted in Weekly Worship, Growing in God's Word, Connecting with Others, and Impacting Our Community for Jesus. One way members of Peace impact their community is by serving Habitat for Humanity of Columbus.
Things didn't go as planned for Peace's Build Day this year as the rain and humidity did not allow for the drywall mud to dry, but members still made significant impacts for Habitat. Cleaning up much of the yard space at the New Hope Addition, emptying a storage unit, reinforcing the sheetrock, beginning the build on the shed, and completing the landscape on three sides of the house. It was a hot and very humid day, but full of hard work!
